The Church of St Augustine is situated in the very centre of Galway city, and serves one of the city parishes. The organ is located in the back choir gallery, and has quite a spectacular case with 16' pipes forming towers on either side. The action is mechanical throughout, and the swell pedal is of the older weighted type, which can be either fully open or fully shut but needs the weight of the foot to keep it in any other position. The three manuals each have 56 notes; the pedal board has 30 notes.
