St Nicholas' Collegiate Church was founded in 1320, and stands in the heart of old Galway. An organ was built by Walker in 1845, and erected in the south transept. This instrument was moved to the current organ chamber in the chancel in 1872. In 1912, a new instrument was built by Norman & Beard, incorporating parts of the Walker organ. This instrument was renovated in 1945, and again in 1959 by Henry Willis & Sons.

Both Choir and Swell are enclosed, and the action is pneumatic.
